Antelope AYSO 2020 Fall Season Update

Hello Antelope AYSO Families:

We hope you are all doing well and staying safe during these unprecedented times.  The Antelope AYSO Board wants to assure you all that we are doing everything we can to be prepared to have a Recreation Season this year.  We have reopened registration as a wait list, which will not require payment until your player(s) has been moved to an active status.  Once a formal decision has been made as to how we will run the Recreation Season, you will receive an email with the details and a short window to finalize your registration and pay for the season.  Please see below for a description of what our contingency plans for the season.

In all of these options, we will have required, touch less temperature checks of players, team personnel, and possibly spectators.  Required social distancing between family units will be enforced.  We are committed to providing you updates as we get them.

Option A

This is our goal, a semi-normal season.  Due to likely health regulations on gathering size, we will not have an opening day parade or volunteer picnic, and picture day may need to be spread out over a couple days and/or parks.  Additional precautions we may need to take:

  • Limiting spectators at games and practices to ensure we comply with health official regulations.
  • Fewer fields painted per park, which may result in games being scheduled later in the day.
  • For 10U Divisions and above, the Regional Tournament will be modified by potentially spreading out over a couple weekends and limiting spectators.

Option B

This would look similar to the above option, with the following additional precautions:

  • Split practices (half a team at a time depending on age level) or limiting in-person practices.
  • Further limiting spectators at games and practices, potentially to only one parent or guardian.
  • For 12U Divisions and above, no outside travel.
  • For 10U Divisions and above, the Regional Tournament may not be held, and the Board will draw team names to move on to the Area Tournament.

Option C

This option would operate as a Jamboree style play.

  • Mixed age divisions as appropriate.
  • Split practices (half a team at a time depending on age level) or limiting in-person practices.
  • Limiting spectators at games and practices.
  • For 10U Divisions and above, there will not be a Regional Tournament and Antelope will not send a team to the Area Tournament.
  • Lower cost.

Option D

This option would operate as a Jamboree style play as above, with the following additional precautions:

  • No in-person practices.
  • Further limiting spectators at games, potentially to only one parent or guardian.
  • Lower cost.
